Privacy Policy for Augur

Augur (“the app”) is a personal prediction-tracking app developed by the Augur developer. This policy explains what information Augur collects, how it’s used, and your choices regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Augur does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information to use the app.

When you use Augur, the following information is collected and stored:

• Prediction content you enter, including the prediction title, optional reasoning notes, category, creation date, resolution date, and resolution outcome (Yes / No / Sort of)
• A random, anonymous device identifier, generated automatically and used solely to keep your data private to your device and separate from other users’ data. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information we hold.

Augur does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing activity, and does not access any other data on your device beyond what’s described above.

How Information Is Used

The information described above is used solely to:

• Display your predictions back to you within the app
• Calculate your personal accuracy statistics and calibration insights
• Schedule local notifications reminding you when a prediction is ready to resolve

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Augur uses Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to store your prediction data securely and to generate the anonymous identifier described above. Firebase is operated by Google LLC, and data stored through Firebase is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase’s data processing terms.

Your data is stored on Google’s servers and is only accessible through your device’s anonymous identifier. Access is restricted so that only that identifier can read or write its own data.

Notifications

Augur uses local, on-device notifications to remind you when a prediction is due to resolve. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any third-party push notification service.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your prediction data is retained for as long as you continue using the app. If you would like your data deleted, please contact us at augurappdev@gmail.com with your request, and we will delete the associated data from our systems.

Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your data from our servers, since the same anonymous identifier can be restored if the app is reinstalled on the same device.

Children’s Privacy

Augur is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
